after all, I didn’t know that learning javascript would drive me to use it in a music project.
indeed, the gridHandler.js script observe my clips grid and inform the protodeck controller.
because .als are only zipped .xml, because a protofuse song = 8×6 clips grid + 8 chains inside racks, thinking about a parser that could extract a song to put inside a liveset made for the performances…
indeed, if I often compose live directly from scratch, I’d LOVE to EASILY import a song from a liveset in another liveset.
Easily would mean avoiding that:
- copy the clips (the easiest part)
- copy each corresponding chain from the source liveset to the correct racks/tracks in the destination liveset.
parsing things could be nice.
I’ll probably work on that on next months.
Before, I have to be sure the als structure isn’t evolving in each minor release :p
I’d love to work on that with another people.
If you’re open to do that, email me
Derek Piotr proposed me to make a crossed remixed friendly collaboration.
It was a pretty nice idea.
The Derek’s soundcloud profile is: http://soundcloud.com/derek-piotr
