Because every makers/creators/artists have their own universe, it is obvious that, at a particular point of their lives, they want to make the big equation of everything in order to describe it.
Indeed, we (artists), are strange people.
We want to show you everything of us, sometimes nothing, oscillations being a huge part of our work, if we can consider we are working, because I’d prefer to write we are living, instead working.. our life being our work or vice versa.
Building an universe from nothing seems to be hard.
But there are already many parts we just have to stick, to agglomerate, to join.
In my case, I’m just multiple which doesn’t mean mentally ill!
The multiple parts of myself – working together
Art takes its sense with the word technic.
Indeed, even if some doesn’t agree with that, we know art is also relatic to skill.
Britannica Online says Art is “the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others.”
How to separate skill & imagination ?
Indeed, it seems hard, but education, societies, and globally jobs & bosses tend to make you using right & left parts of the brain absolutely not at the same time, which breaks absolutely our bunch of super-powers being inside of us.
My great friend Laurent (Boghossian) agrees 100% with that and it means a lot for me as he’s one of the most accurate to explain that kind of global human theory through his books about management, self-improvement.
Indeed, you have to notice that: each Continue reading »
Vladislav Delay – Toive

Vladislav Delay was, is and will be one of my most inspiring artist.
You can visit his website here.
His chain reaction’s pieces are just amazing, as his discography.
I early listened them and have been totally moved by those soundscapes.
My M4_U feelings & report
Tweeter
I wrote “my” because I wanted to relate my feelings, my perception of this very great & unique event made in Leicester and at which I have been invite by Sean Carroll.
My M4_U started a bit late, because I was travelling.
Indeed, I caught my flight around 10h50, landing on Gatwick Airport, then took a train to St Pancras Intl, and then another one to Leicester.

How to summarize my 2011 ?
Tweeter
It is the day to write & post this article, today.
2011 was the real first year of my existence as Design the Media owner/founder/developer & Protofuse digital artist.
In another article, I’ll write more about me quiting my last job, but I quit it November 2010.
About Design the Media

I created, developed and made Design the Media company in order to support my technology activities here, there & inside the wired.
I have been contacted, targeted for a lot of projects, selecting the best to fit with my lifestyle, contracting, denying, accepting, deciding all over the year.
Certified by Ableton end of 2010, I gave Continue reading »
Why do I use english everywhere ?
Tweeter
I decided to write this post in french and in english in order to be sure to be understood by almost everybody following me.
Version française plus bas…
Some basics
On facebook and other social networks where I am, I had & still have a lot of complaints about me talking/writing english.
It often involves a lot of laugh and bad words too.
Today, I received the best answer to my newsletter sent yesterday ever!
Then, this personal message just made me deciding, finally, to write this article to be sure everyone would have understood my way.
First, the famous message
In english language, it would have Continue reading »
My tools are used in the real life !
Tweeter
Some people sent us their own music made with tools I designed!
It is really impressive to listen what they made & composed
I want to feature them as much as possible, so I hope they’ll send me more.
Especially, I’m totally amazed and fascinated by this track made with tools I designed (The Uncanny Sequencer + Drone Machine)
The user is named purzelifyable.
Listen to what those tools can produce in real life.
Both tools are available here:
+ + The famous Uncanny Sequencer

This is just me

BIG Max5 installation Musee de la Buzine
Tweeter
Design the Media & I have been targeted & approached about a big Max5 installation project for a permanent exhibition (check this post)
This work has been featured on the cycling 74 website too:

For newbies, I used the Max5 framework provided & edited by those gurus at Cycling 74
Big up to them!
Now, I can name the place/museum.
The Museum is: Musée de la Buzine – Maison des cinématographies de la Méditerranée
It involves:
- 24 systems with OS Windows 7 64bits + 1 server with Windows 2008 server.
- 1 Gigabit Ethernet Network
- 7 touchscreen
- 10 video-projectors
- 20 rfid readers
- 7 arduino boards with 8 buttons + 8 ultrasonic sensors
- 2 multichannel (>4) sound system
I designed the whole system, integrating visuals from a graphic designer, videos from footage makers, sounds from sound designers.
I had to create several tricky systems like:
- a dynamic subtitler for video (using basic .srt files for easy maintenance & change by the customer)
- a scheduler (using UDP datagrams to shutdown the whole exhibition at particular hours all along the years & using Wake On Lan UDP datagrams to wake up all in the morning too)
- a database integration (it provides a system to make Max5 patches knowing what is the language of the visitor’s RFID Card)
- full network connections to remote control all patches with UDP datagrams (put the installation stand by mode to save energy, etc)
- specific Arduino firmwares (input reading + output writing)
This Museum has been inaugurated by the french Ministry of Culture, 2 days ago.
You can see more about this museum and about what we made on this video:
I’m proud about this big project.
I hope to make & build systems like that in a (close) future but actually, I’m on many other amazing projects and probably more personal projects.
Indeed, on my own, I wrote and sent a state of intent for a personal installation system.
