PROJECT 1111 is both an audio/visual piece and a live performance containing 4 sub-pieces (0001, 0010, 0100 and 1000) with a duration of 4 minutes for each.
PROJECT 1111 is an exploration of randomness through sounds & visuals. Each source of sounds and visuals generated is based on chance. Then, the system controls more or less the chaos generated by these source to create an immersive A/V experience.
It has been submitted to Prix Ars Electronica this year 2013 in the category Digital Musics and Sound Art

DESCRIPTION & DETAILS
Working at the crossroads of sounds & visuals, PROJECT is questioning people senses by throwing them massive flows of minimalistic and digital based stimuli.
Each element is generated and minimalism is explored by stimulating the visual matrix and the sound dsp using pure algorithm constraining, controlling and driving more or less a random source.
What could be more minimalistic than the computer itself, without the human?
The main principle of this autonomous installation sits in the fact it actually doesn’t need us.
Would these stimuli exist without us ?
It is both an ode to minimalism and raw/bare electronic hardware playing with us and also a base of a long road I just began inside my inner electronic territories.
A performance mode can be triggered.
This very specific part provides me a way to interact with the system as if the creator could every time control the machine.
The performance uses the visuals only but the sound is generated by some other sources, still inside the computer (no external instruments or hardware)
It provides a way to play a very minimalistic & syncopated live set by immersing the audience deeply inside my piece
These following lines are the technical requirements to be able to host PROJECT 1111 at your place.
PROJECT 1111 is a pure software-based A/V digital installation.
- Videoprojector able to display at least 1600 * 900 (16/9)
- Min 3 meters base screen
- Stereo sound system with a sub-woofer system
- OSX-based computer with at least 8Gb RAM
- Max6 Runtime

SHOWS & EXHIBITIONS
This first video is an excerpt. Please scroll down to watch & hear a whole audio-visual capture of PROJECT1111 running.
Based on generative algorithm, PROJECT1111 doesn’t play twice the same content. I only recorded it because I submitted it to Prix Ars Electronica. Indeed, this is a piece that has to be living, not recorded.
