lines()

ABSTRACT

LINES() is a A/V live performance .
LINES() explores continuously the relationship between visuals & music during a one hour live performance where everything is generated in real-time: from visuals themselves to the sounds.

DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

Software sequencers are intensively used during the performance in order to generate syncopated and more or less shuffled sequences triggering software sound generators.
Almost no samples are used because real-time alteration occurs every time, sometimes because they are programmed or generated themselves, sometimes because I’m triggering the change. Using sample would mean I could nor interact with the sound matter neither the sequences themselves, and LINES() require that.
Visuals are generated in real-time too, responding more or less to the sound according some rules which I can modify on the stage too.

LINES() is a real visual & sound experience for the audience which is invited naturally to listen, to dance, to feel every thing at the same time.
It explores both world of experimental music and research, and rythmed electronic music.

LINES() is the latest piece I made as protofuse live act system.

The name LINES() comes from a primitive function in some programming languages which can draw the basic line primitive on the screen. The plural is used in order to illustrate the concept of flow, multiples’ lines flow as multiple simultaneous data flows, music flows or visual flows. It represents totally the whole A/V live performance.
